It’s a movie that made history being the first Nigerian movie to be acquired by NETFLIX; it’s a movie which helped in changing the view of Nollywood in the outside world. It takes about 95 mins of one’s precious time, which I believe it’s worth the view.
It’s a great movie which is being viewed as a girl working alongside her uncle to save the face of her father’s company. Its first screen started with her having conversations with some mobs to make peace reign in the company by promising to make their company’s payment at due.
As we all know, running a company can be challenging especially in an all-male dominated business, due to a step back in her father’s health she had no objections than to work hand in hand with her uncle who was appointed as the acting CEO while her father was on the sick bed, though she had lots of disappointment on her face being the fact that her uncle was chosen over her, which made her made way to her father’s home to make inquiries on why her uncle was chosen over her, she met her mum on the way which she explain a bit to her the reason her uncle was chosen over her and not the fact of her being a girl child, she told her to understand her father stance , which she reluctantly did and headed back to the office.
Her uncle brought a little bit of changes to the offices, a situation of having the workers perform some early morning devotions before the day work commences and changing his office to the normal workers room with the aim of monitoring the companies’ well-being. Unknown to both uncle and niece the father had already loans of about 995 million from the bank to create buses for an aspiring project the company and its competitor are aiming for. They were given an ultimatum of 30 days to return the money by the external auditor or risk everything they ever had.
They outlined several ways in which they could find their way out of the bankruptcy the company found itself, some of which they had to require for some extra loans which they were declined by those they asked help from, some wanted a nice time with Adanna as a means to help them out of their misery, which with the help of her non patient uncle, they once ended in police cell. Also unknown to both the uncle and niece it was a means of keeping them out of the office so that their competitor could find ways with board of directors to make them come to the conclusion of them handling the company to him.
Luckily with the help of Adanna’s assistant and driver they were brought to notice of what is going on in the company, though granting bail for them wasn’t easy they still found their out of the cell and went to stop their competitor from brainwashing their board of directors. After they tried convincing the board of directors they were given no other choice than to come up with a plan before the days given to them runs out. At this point Adanna had no choice than to come up with the plan to go see one of her friends named Arinze (Peter okoye), a millionaire who also happens to be one of her admirer. On getting to the suite with her uncle, he was mesmerized by her lady in a bikini that he had to follow her, on his way following the lady he bumped into a room of two Ibos trying to swindle a Hausa man into a business deal, he told the man what they were about to do to him and helped him find his way out, while Adanna was busy talking to Arinze in find way to help them out of their problem. He promised her 500 million to help her with and told her to relax while he brings her a drink which she didn’t wait for before she headed out to meet her uncle to let them leave.
At this point in time they had no other means than to merge with an Hausa business tycoon who is trying to get his ways into the east through the transportation system they were into, although adanna’s uncle brought this idea earlier but was ignored by adanna because she felt it wasn’t that necessary but succumbed to it because there is no way out for them again. They find means in convincing adanna’s father about it though it wasn’t an easy task for him too but he accepted.
On their way to Kano to meet the business tycoon, while waiting for their flight, an Hausa man walked up to them and he happened to be the man her uncle helped out of the swindlers hand, he asked them what they up to and they reluctantly told him all about their misery and how they heading to the north to meet a business tycoon. Right there and then he told them his name which made him the son of the business tycoon they wanted to see. He introduced them to his father and they all went to Kano together discussed every bits of their business and how they could all benefited from the merging.
They came back to Enugu to sign the mutually agreed document in the presence of the board of directors which made their competitor loose his face. Finally the company was handed over to adanna to manage as the managing director while her father resigned. Lots of congratulatory messages were said to her.
In the last scene was chief obiagu’s retirement party
